Quick installation summary
- Locate the Air Filter Housing Open your refrigerator and find the air filter compartment. It is usually located in the back panel or near the top inside the fridge.
- Remove the Old Filter Press the release tab or rotate the old filter counterclockwise (depending on your model). Pull out the old air filter and dispose of it properly.
- Insert the New Filter Align the new filter with the slot. Push it in until it clicks into place or twist it clockwise if your model uses a rotating mechanism.
- Reset the Air Filter Indicator Some Whirlpool models have an air filter indicator light. After installing the new filter, press and hold the “Air Filter Reset” button for 3 seconds until the light turns off or resets.
